Release Notes

An overview of the major features and improvements added to Velpha since January 2026

August 14, 2026

The simulator's analysis is now a single report

We restructured the simulator's analysis into one report you read from top to bottom. It opens with the overall assessment, then covers concentration, the long-term outlook, regional balance, historical price movement, and the assumptions behind the numbers. You see the conclusion first and can follow the reasoning from there.

Every section collapses. While a section is closed it shows a one-line summary, so you can open only what you want to examine. Detailed assumptions and the figures behind each calculation start out closed.

How well a plan matches your investment policy now appears as a policy fit score. Two gauges compare your portfolio as it stands with the plan applied, and expanding the breakdown shows the expected maximum drawdown, the probability of reaching your goal, your largest single holding, and any rules the plan would breach. On the risk and return map, each axis now states which direction is better, and the scale is easier to read.

Two-factor authentication and active device management

We added a Security section to your settings. Register an authenticator app to require a six-digit code when you sign in. You can register by scanning a QR code, or by entering the key manually if a camera is not available.

You can also generate backup codes. These are your only way back in if you lose access to your authenticator app, so store them somewhere safe as soon as you generate them. You can regenerate them whenever you need to.

Active devices lists every device currently signed in to your account. If you see one you do not recognize, you can sign it out on the spot.

Faster access to settings, search, and feedback

You can now open settings from the account menu without leaving your current screen. Press ⌘, on Mac or Ctrl+, on Windows to quickly access your account, investment style, notifications, billing, and other settings.

We also redesigned search in the sidebar. Press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows to search for stocks and mutual funds from anywhere in Velpha. When the search field is empty, your watchlist is displayed. Selecting a result takes you directly to its detail page in Market Explorer.

You can now submit feedback or report a problem from the same account menu. When helpful, you can attach the screen you are currently viewing, making it easier to show us the relevant area or explain what happened.

July 13, 2026

Investment groups and expanded return analysis

You can now organize assets into investment groups based on different goals or strategies. Each group can have its own name and description, and existing trades can be assigned to the structure that best reflects how you manage your investments.

Market value, profit and loss, allocation, and returns are calculated separately for the full portfolio and the selected group. By treating each group as its own investment unit, you can review its performance and history independently.

The returns view now includes monthly and daily heatmaps, performance over selectable periods, contribution by security, and a risk-return distribution. This makes it easier to move between when performance changed and which investments drove the result.

July 7, 2026

A smoother path from discovery to simulation

You can now save investments found in Market Explorer to your watchlist or keep them as ideas under consideration. Investments you have not yet decided to own remain separate from your current holdings, making ongoing research and comparison easier.

Saved ideas can be selected directly from the simulator. The simulator now supports ETFs as well as stocks, allowing you to see how changing an investment or amount would affect the allocation and risk of your overall portfolio before placing a trade.

After comparing an idea, you can continue directly to adding it as a new position. Discovering an investment, saving it, testing it in a portfolio, and adding it to your holdings now form one connected workflow across Velpha.

June 29, 2026

A consistent investment profile across Velpha

During initial setup, you can now define your investment objective, time horizon, tolerance for market movements, and expected future contributions. Your answers are organized into an investment profile that captures what matters to you and can be reviewed later.

Velpha uses this profile as a consistent basis for analyzing both your current portfolio and any combinations you are considering. Progress toward your goals, risk, diversification, and use of capital are evaluated against the same criteria throughout the product.

You can update your investment profile from settings whenever your circumstances or plans change. Future analysis will use the revised profile, so you are not permanently tied to the answers provided during initial setup.

June 13, 2026

Compare portfolio changes before you trade

We added a simulator that compares your portfolio before and after a hypothetical change to your holdings or investment amounts. You can test additions, reductions, and replacements as many times as needed without changing your actual portfolio data.

The comparison includes market value and allocation, as well as risk, return, diversification, and alignment with your investment goals. You can also review historical performance to consider the proposed change from several perspectives.

The results are designed to support comparison, not to recommend a particular trade. Adjust the assumptions, compare multiple ideas, and consider whether each approach fits your investment profile before deciding what to do next.

June 8, 2026

See your portfolio, income, and schedule in one place

Portfolio analysis now includes market value and returns over selectable periods, allocation by asset class, region, and sector, return contribution by security, and a risk-return distribution. You can start with the overall portfolio and then examine the individual holdings that had the greatest impact.

The dividends view now shows income by month, a breakdown by holding, and upcoming payment dates. Dividend income is displayed separately from price appreciation, making it easier to understand how much income your portfolio generates and when you can expect to receive it.

The calendar now supports your own events alongside dates such as dividend payments and earnings announcements. Google Calendar synchronization lets you manage investment-related events together with the calendar you already use.

June 2, 2026

Explore stocks and mutual funds in one place

We introduced Market Explorer, where you can search for stocks and mutual funds from the same screen. You can compare different types of investments in one continuous workflow without moving between separate sections.

Maps, filters, search results, and detailed information work together to help you explore the market before you have a specific investment in mind. Start with a region or category, browse the available investments, and open anything that interests you for more detail.

Investments you would like to compare later can be saved to your watchlist. This allows you to keep ideas found during exploration and use them later in portfolio analysis or simulation.

May 16, 2026

Manage trades and current holdings in one workspace

You can now record stock purchases and sales and review your transaction history. Enter the security, quantity, price, and date, and Velpha will update your current holdings based on the resulting sequence of trades.

For sales, Velpha checks the entered quantity against your current holdings. This helps prevent transactions that exceed the position or create inconsistent records, while also showing which trades led to the position you currently hold.

Portfolio selection, the holdings list, and trade entry are now available in one workspace. You can switch between multiple portfolios while continuing to record transactions and review current holdings.

Velpha RC enters early access

We launched early access to Velpha RC, a new experience for managing and understanding your investments. Centered around a dashboard for day-to-day portfolio monitoring, it brings portfolio records, analysis, and investment discovery together in one application.

Initial setup, portfolio creation, trade entry, and performance review are connected in a single flow, with clearer guidance on what to do next. Rather than serving as a collection of separate analysis tools, Velpha RC is designed as a place to maintain and regularly review your investment process.

Throughout the early-access period, we will continue improving features and presentation based on customer feedback. Major additions made after the initial release will be published under the newer dates on this page.

April 10, 2026

Learn the fundamentals of investing

We published a collection of guides that introduces the fundamentals of investing step by step. The chapters cover how to think about investing before you begin, as well as risk and return, diversification, and portfolio construction.

Interactive diagrams and simulations allow you to change assumptions and observe how the results respond. Concepts such as correlation and diversification, which can be difficult to understand from text alone, become easier to explore by adjusting the numbers yourself.

The material uses the same concepts found throughout Velpha’s analysis screens. You can return to the guides whenever a metric is unfamiliar and connect the explanation directly to the way you review your own portfolio.

March 29, 2026

Analyze securities and portfolios with AI

We redesigned the conversational workspace for asking AI about individual securities and portfolios. You can select a mode, choose the relevant company or portfolio, and ask questions in a layout designed to keep both the conversation and results easy to follow on desktop and mobile.

Sources and search results are displayed alongside the response, allowing you to review the information behind the analysis. Depending on the question, results from the web and X may appear together with visual outputs such as comparison tables and charts.

When you select a portfolio, the analysis can also identify risks such as concentration in a single security or overlap between holdings with similar market behavior. This allows you to move beyond general explanations and explore questions based on your own holdings.

February 26, 2026

Expanded quantitative analysis for individual securities

The security detail page now brings together quantitative analysis of profitability, valuation, and price performance. Multiple metrics and charts provide a broader view of a company without relying too heavily on any single figure.

Dividend analysis now covers more than payment history. You can review the relationship between dividends, earnings, and cash flow, assess the capacity to maintain distributions, and consider the potential effect of less favorable business conditions. This helps separate the current size of a dividend from its long-term sustainability.

We also added competitor comparisons, historical valuation ranges, and company disclosures from EDINET. You can compare changes within the company with differences across its peers and explore the wider context behind an investment decision.

February 13, 2026

Find securities by criteria and add them to a portfolio

We added a screener that lets you narrow the market using the criteria that matter to you. Combine conditions such as market capitalization, growth, and profitability to find potential investments even when you do not begin with a specific company name.

Search results can also be displayed on a two-dimensional map. This makes it easier to identify securities with similar characteristics or those that stand apart, then continue from the map to detailed metrics and related candidates.

When an investment interests you, you can add it to a portfolio directly from its detail page. Research and portfolio management are now connected, allowing you to carry what you discover into the next action.

February 1, 2026

Switch between portfolios more easily

We added a portfolio switcher to the desktop header. You can change the portfolio you are viewing directly from the current screen without returning to a separate list.

The sidebar now also makes the active portfolio clearer. Even when you manage several portfolios, you can confirm which assets are currently in context while navigating Velpha.

After switching portfolios, you remain on the same type of screen, making side-by-side review more efficient. This reduces unnecessary navigation when your investments are separated by purpose or account.

January 20, 2026

A mobile-friendly portfolio experience

The portfolio experience now adapts to the screen size of phones and tablets. Important information, including market value and current holdings, remains easy to review on smaller displays.

On mobile, tabs let you move between sections with fewer steps. Rather than simply shrinking the desktop layout, Velpha reorganizes the information to suit the available screen width.

We also refined the desktop sidebar and overall page structure. This was the first in a continuing series of interface improvements designed to make portfolio information easier to access across devices.
